In October 2024, Gwyneth’s Gift Foundation was awarded a grant from The Power of Change to fund the purchase of 24 high-quality CPR training manikins.
Prestan’s Ultralites are designed specifically for large-scale training sessions. Their indented form and detachable heads allow the manikins to be neatly stacked, greatly reducing difficulties associated with travel and storage. GGF has specifically chosen the Prestan Ultralites with CPR monitors in order for our trainees and instructors to receive real time feedback on the effectiveness of their compressions. The durability of these manikins greatly exceeds that of GGF’s current inflatable vinyl manikins, meaning that this new equipment will serve an increased number of people in years to come.
“Because we are traveling across the state to train thousands of people each year, it’s essential to have equipment that can keep up with our needs,” said Tiffany Kay, Program Manager. “One of our many goals in 2025 is a complete transition from inflatable manikins to Prestan’s Ultralites.”
Support from The Power of Change for our Hands-Only CPR and AED Training Program began in October 2022. GGF is thrilled to receive this reward for the Fall 2024 funding round. It is through the generosity of Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) member-owners who want to round up their electric bills through the Power of Change program that the CARE Charity can award grants to non-profit charities.
Want to help us reach our goal of 100 Prestan Ultralite manikins in 2025? Your contribution will enable us to continue creating a Culture of Action where communities are educated, confident, and empowered to save the life of someone suffering from sudden cardiac arrest.
